Background
Candace Christopher, president and founder of Crafts for a Cure, started fundraising for the American Cancer Society while still in elementary school. Since 2002, this focus on fighting cancer has taken the form of participation on a Dorchester County Maryland Relay for Life team comprised of family and friends. Looking for a unique fundraising idea, she and her mother knit and crocheted scarves that she then sold at work. That early success led to the incorporation of Crafts for a Cure in October 2006.

Crafts for a Cure is a 501(c)3 corporation.
